My relationship with fashion.

I’ve been asked this question countless times- ‘Why did you become a fashion designer?’ Over the years I have perfected this answer and it goes something like this:

There was never a moment in my entire life when I didn’t want this. Sure, when I was young, I wanted it for the glamour. As I grew up and began my education at NIFT, I became aware of the amount of courage and hard work it really entails, and I still wanted it.

Lately, I have seen and treasured my label as a companion. Most important of all, I want to leave behind a legacy. I want to create something of substance and value, something bigger than my own existence, something that outlives me. That is my ultimate goal.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that my love for fashion has never ever wavered, but what all it is capable of giving me in return continues to change.
